Happy Birthday, Laura.
As I sit here, looking out a CT window on the rainy world, the leaves are falling not like angels, but rather like lead zeppelins. Nonetheless, it’s a beautiful day to spend with you in this way.
I have two pieces of wonderful news!
First, you have been nominated to the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame. There are twelve nominees, five of whom will be chosen next March. I will be contacting the Hall of Fame and begin a campaign in your behalf. My plan is to shower them with the countless letters that this site has received from your devoted fans, both new and old. As a group, your select people are intelligent, articulate and sensitive, and many of them write far better than I. My hope (and this is a request of them) is that they will also write of their opinions, and reasons as to why you should be one of the five winners. It’s to be a grass root effort, just the kind you always appreciated the most.
And, second, “Mother’s Spiritual” has been re-released. That was your favorite album, I know. You said to me that it was as close to your vision for your work as possible. “95% there”. I remember how thrilled you were to have given birth to that album of songs. Ever so sweetly proud. Well, congratulations my Dear One.
Wish like anything that you were here today for this news, and looking out your CT window at the world. We would make a party with hats, balloons, flowers and great food.

Let’s campaign to have Laura inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame! The world could certainly benefit from more of Laura’s music and sensibilities.
